Meditation for stress and anxiety in groups
How the meditation group sessions work
The meditation group at Kristin Tollstedt Psychology is particularly helpful for those who want to reduce stress or increase self-compassion. The sessions are led by a licensed psychologist with specialization in mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy.
This is how the sessions usually look like:
- Each session begins with a short introduction and practical exercise in mindfulness.
- We work with breath anchoring, body scanning and mindfulness.
- You will receive guidance throughout the session.
- After the meditation, there is an opportunity for reflection and short discussion in the group.
- Everything takes place in a permissive and safe context where you can participate on your own terms.
- All exercises are easy to follow and you do not need any previous experience in meditation.

Frequently asked questions about meditation
Do I need previous experience in meditation?
No, the meditation group is suitable for both beginners and those with previous experience. The exercises are easy to follow and adapted to the needs of the participants.
What is the difference between meditation and mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the ability to be consciously present in the moment, without judging or running away from your emotions. Meditation is a method to train this ability. In the group, we use mindfulness-based meditation to strengthen focus, increase emotion regulation and reduce stress.
Does meditation help with anxiety?
Yes, several studies show that regular meditation can reduce anxiety levels, especially when combined with supportive counseling or therapy. If you would like to book an appointment for talk therapy, you are very welcome to contact me. I am a licensed psychologist and focus on CBT treatment and DBT-influenced treatment.
