Conversation therapy in Stockholm

Individualized talk therapy

Many people go through periods in their lives when they find it difficult to manage thoughts, feelings or relationships. Counseling can be a valuable support when you want to understand yourself better, break negative patterns or find new perspectives.
In the conversations, you get the opportunity to explore what lies behind your feelings and how you can create a change. I am a licensed psychologist and offer individually tailored therapy in a safe and respectful environment, either on site in Stockholm or digitally.

Common problem areas I help with

Talk therapy is helpful for treating a variety of problems. Some examples are:

  • Worry, anxiety or panic disorder
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Stress and symptoms of fatigue
  • Self-criticism and low self-esteem
  • Difficulties in relationships and communication
  • Social phobia
  • Life crises and grief

Whether you are seeking CBT for anxiety, depression, or life crises, I will customize the session to your specific needs.

What talk therapy can give you

The purpose of talk therapy is to help you feel better, gain new perspectives and create a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships. When we gain an understanding of patterns and inner conflicts, the conditions for development are created.

Through talk therapy you can:

  • Strengthen your self-awareness
  • Breaking negative patterns
  • Setting healthy boundaries and communicating in relationships
  • Get tools to manage anxiety and stress
  • Feel more present and free in everyday life

It is not uncommon to feel emotional or lost at the beginning of therapy and when hidden feelings come up. But with support and clear structure, therapy becomes a tool for lasting change.

How talk therapy works

Initial contact

We start with an initial conversation where we discuss what is behind your desire to go to therapy and what your needs and goals are. You will get a feel for how I work and the opportunity to decide if I am the right therapist for you.

Joint planning

If you decide to proceed, we will design a treatment plan together. I will help you identify the patterns and areas of life that need attention and determine the goals and scope of therapy. Treatment can focus on a specific problem or be designed for long-term development.

The course of therapy

At the heart of the treatment is the conversation itself, a safe space where you can explore your feelings, thoughts and behaviors. We usually meet every week or every other week, depending on your preference.

Please note: If you are unable to attend, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the appointment to avoid being charged.

The aim of the treatment

The treatment aims for you to experience a meaningful change, in line with the goals we formulated together at the beginning of the therapy. Change often happens in small steps, where some conversations can feel challenging and others easy.

With continuity and reflection, a deeper understanding often emerges, opening up new ways of thinking, feeling and acting.

Therapeutic methods

I base talk therapy on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and its modern applications, along with integrative therapy that includes compassion-focused, mindfulness-based, systemic and DBT-influenced treatment. My practice follows the guidelines of the National Board of Health and Welfare, current research and evidence.

Here are some examples of the methods I use:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): Helps you understand how negative thought patterns affect your emotions and behaviors, and how you can change them to feel better in everyday life.
  • Compassion-focused therapy: Aims to strengthen your self-compassion and reduce self-criticism.
  • Mindfulness-based therapy: Helps you manage stress and anxiety by practicing being more present and less driven by automatic reactions.
  • DBT treatment: DBT stands for dialectical behavior therapy and is particularly helpful if you are frequently affected by intense emotions and have difficulty managing impulses.

I use an integrative method, where different forms of therapy are combined and adapted to your specific needs and goals. You don’t need to know the theory behind it, but my responsibility is to offer a safe and meaningful process that leads to the change you seek in your life.
